PolicyScout Review

Progressive is a competitive value insurer, offering more value than some other insurance companies for the money. Though they may not offer the same options as some of the other top insurers, they do have unique policy coverage options and discounts that can’t be found with their competitors. With unique discounts that help drivers who often have to pay more (like drivers under 18), Progressive sets itself apart from other insurance companies.

Overall, we found that Progressive is one of the best auto insurance companies for high-risk or low-mileage drivers. Though they do offer discounts for individuals with good driving records, there are other companies that offer better rates for these drivers. With online claim filing and 24/7 support, Progressive also makes the claims process convenient for its customers.

One way to get a better understanding of an auto insurance company and the customer experience they provide is by looking at ratings from consumer organizations and other third-party sources. Overall, Progressive has ranked lower than other insurance companies for customer satisfaction. According to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, Progressive had more than the median number of complaints to state regulators for auto insurance in 2017 relative to its size.

This is an “about average” rating for overall satisfaction. J.D.
