Medicare Advantage Plan (Part C)
Medicare Glossary Topic.A certain type of Medicare health plan offered by a private company that contracts with Medicare. Medicare Advantage Plans provide all of your Part A and Part B benefits and they include:
Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs)
Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs)
Private Fee-for-Service Plans (PFFS)
Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans (MSA)
Special Needs Plans (SNPs)
If you are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan, most Medicare services are covered through the plan and services aren't paid for by Original Medicare. Some plans offer prescription drug coverage as part of their benefits packages. They may also include other benefits including routine vision/dental, hearing, and wellness programs.
